At any equestrian event, medical cover is vital. Kings Medical Services offer a high level of equestrian event medical
cover with many years of experience in this field, regularly covering British Eventing and Pony Club events as well as a huge variety of unaffiliated competitions.
Equestrian events which are run in association with the equestrian sporting bodies are governed strictly by their rules and regulations. These set out the required level of provision for medical and first aid services. However, the equestrian world also benefits from a huge variety of unaffiliated competitions run by various clubs, riding establishments, hunts and others. These will require various levels of medical cover and we are more than happy to work with the organisers to produce a risk assessment and assess the level of cover required – taking the regulations of the equestrian bodies as a guideline at all times.
As specialists in this field our staff are trained in trauma injuries and offer a professional and caring service. We are CQC registered, as required by the majority of equestrian bodies and fully compliant. This means we are also able to transport to hospital as required should this be necessary and that level of cover agreed beforehand.
‘Ambulance providers must be registered with the Care Quality Commission. Registered providers will be able to give details of their registration or this may be checked on the Care Quality Commission website, www.cqc.org.uk.’ Pony Club Rulebook 2016
We have a number of specialist vehicles suitable for equestrian event medical cover, including two off-road, stretcher carrying 4x4s, capable of reaching the most difficult parts of an eventing course to remove patients quickly, and two fully equipped frontline ambulances in which to treat.
Based in the Midlands, we can travel easily to all parts of the UK, so if you have an equestrian event in the diary and would like a no-obligation chat about your requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us.
